An Iranian-American with dual citizenship, Jamiel has trained with the Iranian National Team and raced professionally in the United States with the RH Villa squad before joining the Kodak Gallery Pro Cycling Team in 2007.
A natural and gifted athlete, Jamiel discovered his passion for cycling while rehabilitating an ankle injury sustained playing varsity football and re-injured playing varsity basketball in high school. Great leg speed and a keen eye for reading a race, Jamiel will be a rider to watch in crits and bunch sprint finishes.
Jamiel began racing in 2002. In the past two seasons, he earned one international victory, two district track titles and three U.S. National Championship podium appearances. In 2006, Jamiel wore the red sprinters jersey at the International Cycling Classic for five stages before finishing an impressive second.
